This Galvanometer was believed to have come from Swindon Railway Works, as it was recovered from the house of an ex Swindon Railwayman in the early 60’s.
It’s a mahogany-cased device in the style of an Edison & Swan galvo, possibly manufactured by G.E.C or the British G.P.O. around 1910 - 1925. It’s a twin-coil, two-terminal device, with the only marking being "4537" stamped onto the inner casing.
